    Job description & requirements

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Regular classroom observation. - Identification of children in need of Special Education at the school and provide them with appropriate help (i.e. Individualized Education / Remedial Plan)
    2. Ensure that the child with special needs is well included into the school system and inclusion happens in all aspects of the child’s school life.
    3. Refer the child to an external agency for assessment and certification, if required.
    4. Conduct an Intake Interview, case history, Curriculum based assessment and reviews the child’s current level of functioning.
    5. Review and decide on next stage based on Diagnosis of the assessment report (i.e. counselling and/or remedial.)
    6. Make IEP / IRP worksheets, TLMs use existing materials from school curriculum and conduct timely sessions.
    7. Design formative / summative assessments for the SEN children.
    8. Help appoint a Shadow Teacher for the child, if required.
    9. Meet regularly with the teacher, coordinator and parent to discuss the progress of the child and also to suggest strategies to be followed in class and at home.
    10. Prepare guidelines and follow up regularly with the counsellor and shadow teacher.
    11. Discuss the intervention and progress of each child at the centre with the COWB Coordinator, COWB HOD and Principal.
    12. Review the progress of intervention at regular basis to confirm the efficiency of the intervention.
    13. Attend meetings regarding children under intervention with (i.e. Parent, special educator and counsellor meeting.)
    14. Attending Parent teacher meeting (i.e. PTM).
    15. Be a part of admission process (i.e. refer to inclusion policy.)
    16. Encourage and appoint peer counsellors and study buddies. Conduct workshops and group sessions for students, teachers, counsellors, parents and shadow teachers.
    17. Conduct / Monitor the Morning activity for children. - Maintaining documents with efficiency and regularity as per the processes documents formats provided. - Be a team worker. - Work on self- development and update knowledge in field on a regular basis to improve performance. - Follow the code of conduct of the department and maintain Confidentiality at all time.
