Role Overview
The Science Teacher for Grades 5–7 plays a key role in developing scientific curiosity, conceptual understanding, and hands-on learning among students. The position requires strong subject knowledge across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at a middle-school level, effective lesson planning, classroom management, and the ability to create an engaging, inquiry-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for Grades 5–7 through clear explanation, demonstrations, experiments and hands-on activities.
- Prepare structured lesson plans, learning outcomes, and unit plans aligned with the school curriculum.
- Use experiments, models, audiovisual tools, and real-life applications to promote investigative learning.
- Conduct regular assessments, maintain student records, and ensure prompt correction of assignments.
2. Practical Work & Lab Management
- Plan and execute age-appropriate science experiments safely and effectively.
- Maintain lab materials, equipment, and consumables in coordination with the school’s operations team.
- Ensure strict safety protocols during practical sessions.
- Keep accurate inventory and documentation for lab-related resources.
3. Student Progress & Support
- Track student performance, strengths, learning gaps, and behavioural patterns systematically.
- Provide individual or group remediation where required.
- Prepare students for periodic assessments, projects, and presentations.
4. Classroom Environment
- Maintain a well-organized, stimulating, and safe classroom environment.
- Uphold the school’s expectations of discipline, respect, empathy, and positive behaviour.
- Encourage inquiry, scientific thinking, and student participation.
5. Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, updates, and academic reports.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings with senior management to discuss progress, planning, and challenges.
- Work collaboratively with teachers from other subjects for integrated projects and events.
6. School-wide Activities & Responsibilities
- Participate actively in school events such as Science Day, Annual Day, Sports Day, Parent Workshops, and Educational Trips.
- Supervise students during sports periods, breaks, and outdoor activities as required.
- Contribute to cross-disciplinary events and theme-based learning initiatives.
7. Professional Development & School Ethos
- Attend all teacher training sessions, workshops, and professional development programmes organized by the school.

Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.) with specialization in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science.(Preferred: B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification)
- 2+ years of experience teaching Grades 5–7 or equivalent age group.
Preferred
- Experience with CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE curricula. Experience teaching IGCSE Science preferred
- Ability to conduct experiments confidently and creatively.
- Strong spoken and written English communication.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and blended learning approaches.

Work Expectations
- Working hours: 7:50 am – 4:00 pm
